Do you remember when things were darkest for you? How did it it turn out?
This painting aims to acknowledge the struggles and failings we all face as humans, and the underlying shame so many of us carry. This is depicted in the dark, cave-like elements. And of course, the light bursting from the dark represents the growth that comes from our trials, especially when we bravely face our own shortcomings.
We can continue to grow and change over the course of our lives and the painting serves as an acknowledgement and encouragement of this process, of taking a flexible and forgiving view of yourself, and to see the flower-like blossoming beauty.
This painting is ideal for a growth-oriented individual or someone who is currently working through a deep personal struggle. A wonderful setting for this piece would be a more private room in your house or in your office, where you will have time and privacy to reflect.
I painted this out of joy and awe of this process in myself and others during a difficult time. The painting reminds me to have hope and to have courage and I hope you will experience this too.
